Bolder School

Focusing on individual level, learning style, and pace.

WHO:  Any student, age 6 to 18 or in 1st to 12th grades, that needs smaller setting with a focused approach to academics.  Bolder Tutor's hope is to serve a broad community of students, from gifted to below average abilities.  Whether your child has anxiety, emotional/behavior issues, or just can't seem to focus in school, Bolder School is a good fit.  However, if your child is a physical danger to themselves or others on a regular basis, we are not accommodated to serve those specific needs.  Call for more information.

WHAT:  At the Bolder School, we provide Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and 2 electives to our students.  We also assist in helping families find mentor programs and part time job experiences in the community for our older students as an option to an elective.  Our curriculum is based on both state and local standards but is paced to each individual student.  With only 9 students per classroom, our average ratio is 1 educator per 6 students.  There is ongoing enrollment, as well as optional classes and trips during some of the breaks.  Also, Bolder School has a no homework policy.  Read our blog to find out why.

WHEN:   Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 2:30pm, 185 days per year (Colorado average is 172).  This is a continuous school that serves students year round.  See the fall 2011 calendar and the 2012 calendar.

WHERE:  1371 E. Hecla Drive, Suite F, Louisville, CO 80027

WHY:  For many years families have asked us to start a school based on the same principles we use in our tutoring model.  Since every child is different, it is important to consider all aspects of their individuality to create an educational plan that works specifically for them.  By creating these individualized plans, we can meet a child's academic needs whether they are at grade level, ahead of their peers or behind.  It is common for a child to excel in one area while being at grade level or even behind in others. Bolder School does not confine a child to learn materials that are grade level specific, but rather focuses on the student's individual level in each academic area.

For example, Steve is a 6th grader who performs at an 11th grade math level of Geometry.  However, because of some auditory processing issues, he is a poor reader and speller, scoring far below grade level.  The challenge is to meet his need for higher math so that he does not get bored with it while also building the skills he lacks in both reading and writing.  Our teachers focus on individualized learning that will support both areas of need for this student.

COST: $8,325 a year and we have many payment options as well, including monthly payments and cash discounts.

Please note that optional learning day programs are separate from the regular program.  Therefore these programs require an additional fee based on the number of students and the activity that is not included in the tuition cost.

Want more information or are you ready to sign up?  Just give us a call or email us to find out what we can do to meet your child's unique needs.  We look forward to hearing from you soon!
